Detox Me Tuesday Approved Spray Sunscreen

When it comes to spray sunscreens you want to make sure it is aerosol free! All of these brands feature safe, physical and mineral sunscreen formulations that you can trust! Reminder: you always want your active ingredients in any sunscreen formula to be non-nano zinc oxide or non-nano titanium dioxide ONLY! Non-nano means that the particles are 100 nanometers instead of 20-30 nanometers which means the particles will stay on your skin and are too big to be entered into your blood stream or lungs. This is really important for spray sunscreens. Another bonus of using all of these is they are non-aerosol meaning they are air powered sprays. Aerosol sunscreens may contain benzene, a known carcinogen, VOCs and other harmful ingredients that can easily be inhaled.

A few tips on applying so you make sure you are getting sun coverage and don’t inhale it:

  1. Hold your breath while spraying.

  2. Spray in hand first and then rub it on area you want to apply.

  3. Hold the bottle close to your body (like 1 inch) so you don’t lose all of the formula and you know you are getting full sun protection.

  4. Always have a lotion on hand too! HERE is my list.

Beautycounter: New clients get 20% off with code CLEANFORALL20

All Good: Non-nano zinc oxide.

Beauty By Earth: Use code DETOXME for 12% off.

Babo Botanicals: Uses non-nano zinc oxide.

Goddess Garden: This is only on the list because the titanium dioxide is paired with zinc oxide to give you full UVA coverage and it is using non-nano particles.
